I'm still not quite sure if this scene says more about the psychological/emotional state of Bernstein and the gorilla or about their past. Either way, I'm fine with it, I realize there's too much time wasted by explaining "origins" in a completely emotionally detached way, just stating the facts... now watch "Heart of Ice" and tell me if you would have felt anything for Mr Freeze if his origin had been told by simply stating the facts. (There's no real way to separate facts and emotion, but I'm sure you get the idea.)
